WELCOME TO BLUR!

Welcome to Blur. This is an RP that is going to have stats based on Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. You will be creating a character and choosing a job for them. You will begin by choosing a race and starting job, I will supply you with your first weapons. Blur will consist of ten chapters (more if things go well) and each chapter will last 168 hours (seven days).
There are only 17 spots available (my first RP and I don’t want to be too confused).

YOUR CHARACTER
This system is pretty large, so bear with me on it.

RACES

Humans- Have the widest variety of jobs due to their balanced capabilities. (Males and Females)

Bangaas- They have great attack and stamina. Bangaa greatly dislike being called “lizards” and are very weak magic users. (Males)

Vieras- They are the most beautiful race that lives in Blur. Viera excel in speed and resistance, but have low defense and low stamina. They are also the only race with a third Job Tier. (Females)

Moogles- Moogles are the second most balanced race in Blur. They have decent magic, but fail in strength. (Males and females)

NuMous- NuMou specialize in magic. They have horrible attack, but nearly all of their jobs are unique in different ways. They are the only race that has only mage-type jobs. (Males and females)


JOBS
You need to master abilities for certain jobs in one level of the system to get to the next level. These are the "Secondary" and "Tertiary" you will see. In the brackets are the required numbers of skills.

And that is the job system…

There are also unique skills that each job can learn. These skills cost AP (action points), and the better the skills, the more AP it is going to cost. Basic skills cost 100 AP, but more complex skills, however, can cost up to 5000! Certain skills require specifics for what type of weapon you need to be equipping and what its stats are. Certain skills can cost MP. (you begin with 100 AP)

I.E. Solitude- Causes you and opponent to be unable to walk or talk, they can only attack. AP cost 800. Weapon requirements: Bow. Job requirements: Sniper.

Different clans give you different boosts.

Beatdown gives any soldiers and warriors 50 AP

Honor gives bangaas 30 bonus AP
Ether gives mages 30 bonus AP
Miepie gives beastmasters 30 bonus AP

Lastly, you must choose your weapon. Your base weapon is free, but to switch will cost 500 G. Also be aware you can upgrade your current weapon. Pay 100 G to temper your weapon and raise one stat buy one point.

Skills will depend heavily upon what weapon, job, race, gender, and clan that you decide upon. I will create individual lists of abilities for you. The lists will change or get added on to when you change your job or weapon preference and gain AP.


CLANS
The clans Honor, Miepie, Beatdown, Speed, and Ether all will have their clan leaders and clan turf.

MONEY SYSTEM
There are two levels of funds available in the RP: Clan Funds and Personal Funds.

CLAN FUNDS
Clan Funds are like your clan’s bank. This is where the clan’s money is stored. If you wish to drain from the Clan Funds, for outfitting your clan or whatnot, the clan must take a vote on whether or not it is worth it to spend the money (ALL VOTES WILL BE SENT BY PM TO YOUR CLAN LEADERS). Once the votes have been cast, I will decide on the verdict. The vote is final. If the vote comes down to a tie or very close, I may have to make an improvised decision. Afterwards, the item(s) will or will not be purchased. Money is added to Clan Funds through Foreign Aid or defeating rival clans. When you defeat a rival clan, they give you 10% of their Clan Funds. However, if you lose, you must give them 10% of your Funds.

PERSONAL FUNDS
Personal Funds are on your person. It is money you have gained through your own ways, and is yours to spend as you see fit. The clan leader has no say in this. Money is added to Personal Funds by selling your equipment, money given to you for any reason, or draining from Clan Funds. You may also make a donation to your Clan Funds with your Personal Funds.

MAXIMUM FUNDS/ CURRENT FUNDS
Every character will start with 500 gold pieces or “G”. Clan Funds will start at 5000 G. The maximum Personal Funds you can hold is 9,999 G, and the max Clan Funds is 999,999 G.

Human
Soldier- Balanced fighters that can are skilled in all areas
Thief- Quick fiends that slip in and out of combat with relative ease. They are very fast
W. Mage-White Mages pose as healers. They prefer to avoid combat, but will fight if the need arises
B. Mage-Black Mages use fire, ice, and lightning strikes to take out their opponents
Archer-Faster, but weaker, than soldiers. They prefer long-range combat
Paladin-Masters of the chivalrous arts, they act as guards and heal the injured
Fighter-Specialize in melee combat. Fighters hardly ever back down, they prefer close range
Ninja-They hide in the shadows and use a mixture of alchemy and elementalism to strike their foes
Illusionist-They create disasters by calling upon the elements. Their magic affects entire battlefields
Blue Mage-They are unique among mages. They can “learn” monster abilities
Hunter-They specialize in guerilla warfare from many hunting experiences. They can attack from distances or up close

Viera
Archer-Very fast on foot, they work best in heavily forested areas
Fencer-Specialized in quick, consecutive attacks, Fencers make formidable opponents
White Mage- (refer to “W. Mage” under “Humans”)
Sniper-They never miss a strike. Snipers specialize in disabling their enemies
Elementalist-“Mages” that use extremely focused elemental attacks to destroy their target
Red Mage-A mage that is balanced between white and black magic. They can also wield weapons with exceptional skill
Summoner-Summon beasts to do their kill their enemies
Assassin-Use the forbidden “corner” arts to kill enemies. They excel in all areas of combat and fight superbly on any landscape

Moogle
Animist-They borrow strength from animals. They call upon the wilderness to aid in combat
Thief-(refer to “Thief” under “Human)
Black Mage-(refer to “B. Mage” under “Human”)
Mog Knight-Moogle Knights that know how to take a beating… and dish one out
Gunner-Moogles that prefer extremely long-range attacks. They can’t fight well in enclosed areas
Juggler-Entertainers that use tricks to confuse their opponents. They raise the spirits of their allies
Gadgeteer-They use “Pandora boxes” to help and hurt friends and foes. Their attacks are completely random
Time Mage-Mage masters of time and space. They support allies and cause “ill” happening to befall enemies

Bangaa
Warrior-Soldiers that sacrifice strength for speed… and the other way around
White Monk-Prefer close-range combat. They deal quick, powerful strikes. They have minor healing capabilities
Dragoon-Extremely mobile warriors. They are able to jump to extreme heights
Defender-Bangaa elites that have been trained for defending
Gladiator-Wielders of the magical “spellswords”. They are trained for one-on-one fights
Bishop-Use healing, aiding, and offensive magic
Templar-Strong with weapons and enhancement magic

NuMou
Beastmaster-They control creatures at will
W. Mage-(refer to “W. Mage” under “Human”)
B. Mage-(refer to “B. Mage” under “Human”)
Morpher-Can take the form of a captured animal by using their “soul” as a weapon
Sage-They are able to summon the essence of any element

Clan Turf
Clan Turf will slightly affect what types of battles, jobs, and missions you will encounter. The turfs will be distributed depending on what the majority of the races in your clan are. The Turfs are as follows:

CLAN EXPERIENCE
Your clan’s experience (or EXP) will be tallied and judged at the end of each turn by me. After I find the total EXP for your entire clan, I will then divide that amount by the amount of members in your clan. (I created this to encourage you to be active)
You will NOT level up individually; instead you will level up as a clan. This way there is not one really strong person in a clan or one really weak person in a clan.
Once you level up, you may boost your stats slightly to fit your character’s level.



Here is where the RP is located.


The continent of Munde Nullius.



A land given birth from steel, strategy and sorcery. Inhabited by 5 sovereignties, this realm has faced both peace and war.

TERRA LUMEN

Located on the southern isles of of the archipelago; Terra Lumen. Temperate waters surround these islands, as well as moderate forests. While snow is an extremely rare occasion, Typhoons are not. The land here is sandy at best, not well for those on hoseback. The Regency of Meldioul lies here in this land. This rich nation recieves it's wealth from the rich oceans, abundant with fish along with the hundreds of spices along the isles. It was once said that a small group of traveling Magi's fled to the isles, away from the witch hunts and away from those that would harm the pratictioners of magicks most potent. With the blessing of the first Regent, those Magi's started the clan of Ether. As such, Terra Lumen is known throughout the world as a centre for magical studies.

Terra Lumen is the lands of the Nu Mou. It's patron esper is Ultima, the High Seraph. In the book of the gods, Ultima challenged the gods and ultimately lost. She was casted down to the earth and locked away. She is the Kanya ascendant.

TERRA VOX


To the far Norths in the deep wooden forests lies the lands of Terra Vox. The land is hard to cultivate, but the animals here are among the hardest to kill. The air is usually cold, having the northern winds fly along the forests. It is said that Terra Vox, is the closest point to the spirit realm. Perhaps this is why the Viera; beings of utmost honor, can communicate with the spiritual realm. A nation abandoned by change guards these sacred forest. Rule by 8 consul warriors(who should be noted are all Viera's), the nation of Rein takes it's foothold. The clan of Miepie hold it's history here.

Terra Vox, being the home of the Viera's worships the esper Exodus, the Judge-Sal. In the book of the gods, Exodus watched over the world, passing judgement on those that dwelled in it. However, he later deemed the world unfit and tried to send it into nothingness. Failing to defeat the gods, Exodus was imprisoned. He is the Tula Ascendant.

TERRA BELLUM


To the west of Munde Nellius, lies the hot and scorching deserts of Terra Bellum. Terra Bellum was said to house rich forests, filled with life. However, the Bangaa Kingdom that ruled angered the Nu Mous. In their rage, the Nu Mous cursed Terra Bellum with a 1,000 year drought, depriving the lands of water or vegetation. Because of this, the survivors had become harsh and powerful. The kingdom of Darmasle is the heart of the land, built on the only fresh water source in the entire desert. Clan Beatdown makes it's home in an abandoned fortress, near castle Darmasle.

Terra Bellum, home of the bangaa and warriors alike take heed to Adrammelech, the Wroth. Adrammelech was created by the gods to watch over the monsters of the 'otherworld'. However, his ferociousness made him the king of the monsters and he ranged war against the gods as well. Needless to say, he was cast down to the world and sealed. He is the Makara Ascendant.

TERRA LUNA

To the East, lies Terra Luna. The Moonswept plains. Known for it's clear nights and beautiful weather, bards and troubadours journey through this land. Rich Nobles make their homes along the beautiful country sides, farming the land away. Thieves are abundant as well. 8 nobles rule the the kingdom of Salonea from the fortress town of Baduin. Salonea is famous for it's airship docks and merchant industries, pioneered by the moogles. Despite the protest of Nobles, Clan Speed makes it's home in the heart of the city.

Terra Luna, land of the Moogles, is given it's blessing from the fallen scion Famfrit, the darkening Cloud. Little is known about Famfrit, apart from his affinity for water. He is the Kumbha Ascendant.

TERRA REGIA

In the center of the continent lies Terra Regia. Populated by mostly Humans, this land is known for it's provacative taste and jack-of-all trades business. All humans are well versed in all subjects, be it sorcery or swordplay. However, they excel at neither. The Empire of Royaume is the center of the land, with the Temple of White Magicks at the center of the entire city, as well as the entire continent. Royaume is ruled by a senate of devouts, the most devoted White Mages. Treaties around the contient have always been signed here. Clan Honor is noted for being started here. What first was a group of guards that protected pilgrims who journeyed to the temples became a clan of knights.

Terra Regia is the home of the humans, as well as the scion Mateus, the Corrupt. Mateus was created to rule the dead, but became Greedy. In his greed he posessed the body of a Cleric of Ice and challenged the gods. He failed and was sealed deep within the Temple of White Magicks. He is the Meena Ascendant.

Vault (100) --Lets your character jump great lengths by digging the tip of his sword into the ground to launch himself into the air--

2-hand swing (100) --Use two hands two send your foes flying back--

Impale self (100) --Stab self with sword to envoke a berserk-like state--

Air Wave (200) --Cause a wave of air to overtake your opponent by swinging your sword--[15]

Flame Burst (250) --Engulf your sword in fire to increase damage--[5]

Healing wave (250) --Use your sword to heal your allies by attacking them <means your sword heals them instead of hurts them>--[10]

Hoy. Instead of the RPers being clan leaders, why don't you provide us with NPC's for that job? It's really unfair that they get those bonuses y'know, seeing as they'll have an advantage right from the start over everyone that's NOT a clan leader.

I though it may seem a little unreasonable to boost the stats of the clan leader (will remove this feature) I thought that it might have been a good idea to make Clan Leaders because they would be active players as well as being supporters to the cause.

Alright, so (depending on how detailed the NPCs must be) I will make an NPC to lead each clan.
HOWEVER, the NPCs will fight along side you and your fellow clan members until much later. They will purchase mission information by using your Clan Funds. When the mission is completed, the NPCs will then distribute the reward and then I will update your clan's title depending on your efficiency on missions and how well you and your fellow clan members act as a team. (IE: Clan Beatdown to Adventurer Beatown)

I will edit these changes into the first post soon.

Hehe... Oh, that's what you meant.

The RP will begin when we have enough players. (only 3 have submitted characters so far) Once there are about 6 or 7 players, we will begin, otherwise it would cut out too many people since everybody needs to begin at the same time to not get lost.

7 - 10 more days until the RP begins, I hope...

Oh, about that.... I'm going to make so you don't have to create a character and weapon within ten days, but you have to at least notify me about if you will join.

Nanner, take your time. You DO have ten days, after all.

Once those ten days are over, I might need about three or four more to create all of the ability sheets and create the opening chapter/turn/day. Until then, have fun!


PS: Vulcan, just because you saw the RP eight days in advance doesn't mean it is going to begin earlier, you have to let the others catch up to you. In the mean time, why don't you ask questions to help me develope the rules a little more so the others won't be so confused when they submit a character?

Okay... They will come into play VERY much later. If I were to include that information now... It might utterly destroy any understanding of the
RP. Thus, I will introduce them a week or so after the game begins. All updated information will be placed inside this topic, just to let everbody know.

But to cause less confusion in the future:
-Scions will choose their beholders (everybody gets one)
-Their abilities either help you or hurt enemies, depending on if they are light of dark
-Whenever you summon your Scion, it will drain ALL of your MP, and take half of your current HP

On that last bullet, that is the reason why I am not introducing them too early. If you use one in the beginning of the game, you will be the main target if you use it, and since your magic power is not very strong (even with the magic users) summoning a Scion would be nearly useless.

In FFTA, FFT and FF XII...you had the defeat the Scion before you could actually use it in battle. Although most of em would use uber powerful spells such as Blizzaja, Holyja or even Flareja. *kills Zodiark and his 10,000,000 HP*

I can't wait for this to start, It sounds like a lot of fun. I'm glad you accepted my setting though. I was scared it might have been too confusing. >_>

Not too confusing... I just threw a MAJOR twist on what the Scions do, though. You'll figure it out soon enough, they could be the difference between a life and death situation. Use yours at the wrong time.. A death situation unless your clan gives you enough support, or a life situation where you can frolic in the flowers as your opponents die horrible deaths around you.. *sighs*

The five clans have been narrowed down to two: Speed and Miepie. There are simply not enough people here to support five clans. Consult your character sheet on the first page to see if you have been moved.

The drafts have begun, and Clan Miepie will be receiving info on the "Poachers" mission. Clan Speed will soon be receiving info on the "Dark Skies" mission.

It can be hoped the RP will start in a under a week, but I can't be sure.
